BIOCHEMICAL SCORING ENGINE

Our Scientific 6-Tier Health Grading Matrix

KYF translates complex biochemical formulations, food additive toxicity, and glycemic impact into an intuitive 0–100 Health Score and color-coded grade.

The Core Algorithmic Scoring Equation

Multi-factor nutritional and additive deduction model
Health Score = 100 - Σ(Additive Penalties) - Σ(Glycemic & Refined Sugar Deductions) + Σ(Whole Food Boosts)

Every scanned product starts at a baseline of 100 points. Points are deducted based on toxicological classifications (EFSA/WHO/IARC), ultra-processed emulsifiers, and glycemic load. Positive points (up to +15) are awarded for single-ingredient purity, botanical antioxidants, and whole prebiotic fiber.

Grade F Override: Any confirmed Group 1/2B carcinogen triggers an instant drop to 0–14 (Grade F).
Pediatric Penalty: Azo dyes (E102, E110, E129) trigger a -20 pt penalty with mandatory child warnings.
Glycemic Penalty: Refined Maida & Liquid Glucose deduct 10–25 points depending on concentration.

6-Tier Health Grade Classifications

A

Grade A (86–100)

Superfood / Clean Choice

Unprocessed whole foods rich in natural micronutrients, whole fiber (Oats, Millets, Whole Wheat), and botanical antioxidants (Turmeric, Ginger).

B

Grade B (71–85)

Good & Safe Choice

Nutritious food with minimal processing, safe botanical extracts, and non-toxic food-grade preservatives.

C

Grade C (56–70)

Moderate Quality

Elevated refined starches, moderate sodium levels, or mild artificial acidity regulators; acceptable in moderation.

D

Grade D (36–55)

Unhealthy Choice

High added sugars, palm oil, refined carbohydrates (Maida), or synthetic flavor enhancers (MSG / INS 621, INS 627).

E

Grade E (15–35)

Ultra-Processed Hazard

Contains multiple high-hazard additives, synthetic azo dyes, or intense artificial sweeteners (Aspartame INS 951, Acesulfame K INS 950).

F

Grade F (0–14)

🚨 Carcinogenic Danger

Automatic penalty override triggered when known carcinogenic preservatives (BHA/BHT, Sodium Nitrite E250, Potassium Bromate) are detected.

Glycemic Spike & Metabolic Impact Model

Predicting postprandial glucose volatility

KYF evaluates the glycemic impact by examining the presence of ultra-refined starches and hidden free sugars. Foods are categorized into three distinct glycemic profiles:

LOW (Stable Energy)

Complex unrefined carbs, high soluble fiber, low glycemic index (≤ 55). Minimal insulin spike.

MODERATE (Moderate Spike)

Balanced starches with moderate dietary fiber (GI 56–69). Steady postprandial digestion.

HIGH (Rapid Glucose Spike)

Refined flours (Maida), High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin, Sucrose (GI ≥ 70). Rapid insulin surge.
